The glass program teaches many aspects of technical processes in glass forming. These include glassblowing, various kiln-forming techniques and some cold-working applications. Students are first expected to have some mastery in several technical processes until they deem one or more to best suit their personal style.

Students are exposed to several visiting glass artists throughout their four-year study at Jacksonville University. This is made possible in part through a grant from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs that has co-sponsored summer workshops.
