Intermediate Ceramics-Lab Use
Pre-requisite beginning hand-building or wheel throwing class, equivalent or permission of instructor. Students will have non-instructed access to lab and lab monitor, including clay equipment, materials and glazes during class. The course is designed for personal study and portfolio development.

Photography:

Beginning Digital Photography
This course is designed to teach individuals about using and taking care of their digital cameras. Students will learn how digital photography works, as well as the fundamentals needed to take great digital photographs. This hands-on class is all about the “how to” of digital photography. Students will need to bring a digital camera with memory card and batteries. Instructor: Photographer Sarah Sankovich.

New! Introduction to Photoshop
Come learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop to help optimize your digital images for printing. You’ll learn about the different tools, brushes, filters, and other powerful effects Photoshop possesses. You’ll also learn how to color correct your images, get rid of red eye, how to sharpen those slightly blurry photographs, and so much more! Laptops with a version of Photoshop installed on them are encouraged since the photo lab has a limited number of computers. Instructor: Photographer Sarah Sankovich.

Through this course, students will learn how to print digital images on inkjet printers. Additional topics explored will be different paper types, how inkjet printers work, and how to prepare images for optimal printing, whether they are family photos or fine art pieces. This course is the perfect follow-up to the Introduction to Photoshop course. Laptops are encouraged since the photography lab has a limited number of computers. Spend the day learning the basics of portrait photography, both in the studio and outdoors. Learn about posing techniques, lighting techniques, and even retouching images in Photoshop. Beginning Black and White Photography
Learn the basics of Black and White film photography. Students will learn how to use their film camera, the fundamentals of film photography, how film photography works, how to develop black and white film, and how to print black and white images in the darkroom. Students will need to bring a film camera, preferably with manual settings, and one to two rolls of black and white film (available at Ritz Camera Store). Instructor: Photographer Sarah Sankovich.
